Dear friends and family,
As 2018 comes to a close, I am in awe of all the things the Lord has done. I remember the words of Mary, who said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior….For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name” (Luke 1:46-47, 49, NKJV). When I just take time to reflect and remember all the great things God has done, it is honestly more than I can even process. He is so good, and He is so faithful. I am continually grateful to Him.
This year was another year full of teaching and ministry for me. I continue to serve as a middle school Bible teacher at Lifegate Christian School and as a worship team leader at Kingdom Encounters. Both of these roles are ones that I am very passionate about and that bring me great joy and fulfillment. Though it can be stressful at times and definitely quite busy, I consistently thank God that every day I “get to” wake up and be His hands and feet in these ways. I love building relationships with the people at church and the students at school and seeing how God uses those relationships as iron sharpening iron. There is nothing like it.
Two projects I have been working on this year have been a worship album with the Kingdom Encounters worship team members (called “Kingdom Expressions”) and also a devotional book entitled Freedom through Surrender. The worship album is still in progress but is projected to be completed in the spring of 2019. The book has just been sent to the printing and publication stage, so it should be available for sale very soon! I thank God for both of these opportunities!
In addition to those projects, I was also blessed with the opportunity to go on three major trips this past year: to Costa Rica (May), Cuba (July), and Washington, D.C. (September). This year was my second year to go to Costa Rica, leading a team of 8th grade students from my school to serve at Hogar de Vida (the Home of Life). Additionally, the Lord challenged and stretched me with the opportunity to go on a second mission trip over the summer, which was to go to Cuba with a team from Great Door Ministries. The trip was absolutely life-changing for me. To read a more detailed report about this trip to Cuba, click here.
Finally, my summer concluded with going on a trip with my dad to Washington, D.C. While there, we had so many divine appointments and open doors. We were given opportunities to meet one-on-one with a variety of government leaders, such as Ambassador Sam Brownback (Ambassador for Religious Freedom), as well as sit in on a Religious Freedom Roundtable discussions, attend a David Barton capitol tour and conference, and attend a variety of other networking and prayer meetings. Through all this, my eyes were opened to see some amazing ways God is working behind the scenes in our country. We often hear a lot of discouraging news these days, but this trip left me very encouraged that God is certainly at work in ways we don’t always realize.
There is so much more I could share, but in an effort to keep this note short, I will simply conclude with this: Thank you for your continued prayers and for the ways you allow God to use you to speak into my life. Thank you for praying for my mom’s health; we are continuing to hear good reports from her doctors and are believing we will hear a report of her 100% healing to come. Thank you for praying for my dad as he continues to pastor Kingdom Encounters and also take on other roles such as the United States National Prayer Council and Transformation Omaha. God is doing great and mighty things, and we are excited to be a part of it! Please share with me how I can be lifting you up in prayer and let me know what’s new in your life as well. Thank you again!
